Описание: Signal is a festival of digital and creative culture. During its nine years of existence, it has welcomed more than 3 million visitors in Prague. It links contemporary visual art, urban space and modern technologies. It has become the most visited cultural event in Czechia. The programme is created by renowned foreign and Czech artists in the area of light design, visual and digital art, AI and conceptual art. The festival likes to educate itself as well as its visitors. It links the historical backdrop of beloved Prague with state-of-the-art technologies and contemporary social issues. Signal festival is one of the greatest producers of contemporary art in our country. It supports the youngest generation of local artists and originated the creation of over seventy installations that were created especially for the festival. It organizes side-events for children, professional public and students. It cooperates with numerous foreign festivals and cultural institutions.
The festival was founded by producer Martin Pošta, curator Jan Rolník and artist Amar Mulabegovič from the art group The Macula. After the success of videomapping on the occasion of the 600th anniversary of the Old Town Astronomical Clock, which was carried out in 2010 by The Macula with Martin Pošta, the idea of ​​a broader presentation of the field of lighting art in the Czech Republic arose through the festival.

The preparations for the first year lasted a total of 3 years. The organizers managed to bring big names from all over the world to Prague and to establish the tradition of the festival of light with the support of the capital city of Prague, the city districts of Prague 1 and 2 and other partners.
Signal Festival celebrates 10 years. For one decade we have been connecting art, urban space and modern technology. This year’s annual programme is busier than ever. The largest gallery zone, live performances, lectures, workshops, new locations, new collaborations. The tenth Signal is Signal X. This year’s theme reflects our anniversary.
We stand on the borderline between gallery culture and entertainment in the backdrop of the city. The public space is our playground and our stage. We believe in equality and accessibility. Because art belongs to everyone.

We have given the streets back to the people of Prague! For 10 years we have brought art to the most diverse places in Prague. We have let the audience into the dismantled house on Národní třída, into the half-forgotten Invalidovna or into the beautiful Baroque Mirror Chapel of Klementinum. The Church of St. Ludmila on Náměstí Míru has become a pilgrimage site for lovers of video mapping. We have been looking for a way to bring new forms of art into the public space... We have turned the places you walk by every day into an open-air projection screen.

Light in the dark! There was enough sadness and depression. We can't change the world, unfortunately. But we can stop for a moment and enjoy the streets at night. With playfulness and surprise, we can overcome crises. We're celebrating a big anniversary this year. We're returning to our most beloved festival location and bringing you a brand-new route that takes you to a part of town we've never been to together before.

The tenth Signal Festival is Signal X. Exclusive but joyous. Classic but innovative. Dark but still vibrant. We're celebrating 10 years and we're definitely not stopping. We're getting started!
