We were delighted to mark Dyslexia Awareness Week with a Briefing to Oireachtas members in Leinster House on October 9th, 2019, kindly hosted by Senator Tim Lombard. Our presentation focused on sharing our members' experiences of dyslexia and the concerns and needs you voiced in our recent survey. Key topics covered were the right to assessment, the mental health impact (especially where dyslexia is left unidentified and unsupported) and the need for mandatory teacher training at all levels.
Here is part of the second input from Rosie Bissett, our CEO, who discussed some of the key issues our members are facing in 2019 and what they are calling for to address their needs.
