Beatradar Show Pony is the alter ego of American double bassist Laura Nygren. Show Pony came into existence after years of singing quietly at home with her instrument, writing songs about heartbreak, atoms, and the absurd. Her songs melange of indie melodies, classical licks, electronics, and the occasional beat.

Marthe Lasthuis and Laura Nygren met during their classical violin and double bass studies at the Utrecht Conservatory.
They have been playing together for 12 years in various line-ups, initially traditional classical. But in recent years mainly contemporary classical, experimental pop and ambient. In 2018, they founded the contemporary music trio T R O M P O together with flutist Carlos Añez.
