Leslie Charleson, best known for her iconic role as Monica Quartermaine on General Hospital*, has passed away at the age of 79. Charleson joined the soap opera in 1977, becoming the longest-tenured cast member and earning four Daytime Emmy nominations during her career. Frank Valentini, the executive producer of General Hospital, announced her death on the show’s official Instagram account on Sunday, Jan. 12. “It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my dear friend and colleague, Leslie Charleson,” Valentini wrote.
