Students from across the Denver area came together on Wednesday morning to participate in a community walk honoring White Cane Day, a national observance that celebrates the independence and achievements of people who are blind or visually impaired.
The event, organized by the Anchor Center for Blind Children, brought together preschoolers and students from Denver Public Schools for a walk from the center to Fred Thomas Park at 10:30 a.m. Many of the participating Denver Public Schools students are alumni of the Anchor Center.
