In the fall of 1982, seven people in the Chicago area died after taking Extra-Strength Tylenol laced with cyanide. Victims did nothing more than reach for a common painkiller during an ordinary errand. The panic that followed reshaped an entire industry, triggered one of the largest recalls in American history, and gave us something we now take completely for granted every time we open a bottle.

But more than four decades later, the case remains unsolved, and no one has ever been charged with the murders.
