Doctor Raffaele Sestu has a special record: in his long carrier of 35 years as a Doctor in the little town of Arzana in the center of Sardinia island, he has followed 23 centenarians living in the town. What is the secret of this town? What is the secret of a long life? Which kind of diseases suffers a centenarians? Or better what is the receipt of a so long life? With the help of the study conducted at the University of Sassari by Prof. Gianni Pes, the doctor of centenarians will talk about the difference factors involved in these cases: genetics, enviromentals, familiars, etc. Raffaele Sestu was was born in Arzana, a little town in the middle of Sardinia, known as "the town of centenarians". Graduated in Medical science, specialised in Nephrology and Rheumatology, he carries out his profession in his own town.
Since 1996, he is the Regional Director of little town's Associations (Pro Loco) and since 1990 is the Director of Arzana's Pro loco. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
