The Smart Circular Bridge in Almere has an elaborated Structural Health Monitoring System. Maximillian Weil from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel talks about the reasons behind such an elaborate system, interesting findings and the conclusion after 8 months of monitoring the #SmartCircularBridge in Almere, Netherlands.
By looking at the messured data, it was found out that even during unintended usage, such as when a transporter crossed the bridge, the bridge remained stable and safe.
