Real life example of problem with too long and loose hose during scuba diving which could lead to serious problems.
Situation description: It was beginning of the dive to a Relax Bali wreck - considered an easy dive. The diver got stuck while focusing on filming. Nothing serious happened.
There was, however, a possiblity of hose damage = gas leak, while he got stuck = increased stress and his reaction was to touch the cable with bare hands - no gloves - which could have possibly lead to an injury.
This type of hose configuration is common e.g. in the PADI system.
Serious diving accidents are usually a result of a combination of several factors which are individually harmless.
