While out in Jack London Square in Oakland, California, U.S.A recently, the deadhead of Amtrak San Joaquins train 712 street run down Jack London but with Amtrak P42 155 at the lead (AMTK155) with Amtrak F59PHI (CDTX2005) operating as the cabcar with a Siemens Venture car trainset. Here in theSan Francisco Bay Area, it's quite rare to have a P42 Genesis locomotive lead any San Joaquins or Capitol Corridor train; though this was a common practice before the covid pandemic. P42s have been on 2-3 San Joaquins train sets due to broken/routine maintenance on F40 NPCUs. The Siemens venture cablers are still having issues.
