-Fontainhas is Panjim Goa's must visit tourist attraction. Your trip will be incomplete without visit to this place.

It is just 15 minute walking distance from Panjim Bus stop and Casino.

-Morning time from 7 to 9 am is the best time to visit due to less heat. In the afternoon there will be too much heat and humidity, so it become very hectic due to sweat.

It requires 45-60 minute walking so carry water bottle, sunscreen, hat and goggle with you.

-All the houses in this area is colored with different colors like Yellow, Red, Pink, Blue, Purple, etc

-This is Goa's old latin quarter. Such old building they maintained very well.

In this area you will find different Cafes, Restaurants,, Guest houses and Home Stays where you can stay by paying per night charges. The charges varies from INR 1500 to 4000 per night per room.

-Some of the families still speak Portuguese language here.

-All these houses made by Portuguese Architecture style in 18 and 19th Centuries.

-The houses and streets are very neat and clean.

-Taking photos and videos of some houses are prohibited here.

-Every year in February there is Art and Cultural festival organized for one week. All the historic houses in Fontainhas changes into art gallery. Where residents shows Goan Heritage artwork, Unique architectural features and furniture of dining hall.

-Artist like singers and dancers from different countries comes here to show their talent in this festival.

-Rich Portuguese Antonio Joao De Sequera established this as a Coconut plantation but due to pandemic in 1800, it is converted to residence for Portuguese officers and rulers.

-UNESCO declared this as heritage site in 1984.

-This place has became the must visited place now.

-This place became quite popular for Photography and videography like couple shoot, pre-wedding, post-wedding, maternity shoot etc.

-Old cafes, Balconies, Colonial charm of Portuguese buildings, art galleries, wishing well, old Portuguese church, old street like 18th June street and Rua 31De Janeiro street are the main attraction of this area.

-You can buy hand painted ceramics at Velha Goa galeria.
