🍚 Mushroom Rice Recipe (Serves 2–3)
A delicious, aromatic rice dish with mushrooms and warm spices—perfect for a quick lunch or dinner!
🧄 Ingredients:
1 cup Basmati rice (soaked for 20 minutes)
2 cups water
200 grams button mushrooms (sliced)
1 large onion (finely sliced)
4 garlic cloves (minced)
½ tsp chili flakes
½ tsp black pepper
Salt to taste
1 inch cinnamon stick
2 tbsp oil or ghee
Fresh coriander or spring onion greens (for garnish)
🍳 Method:
Prep the Rice
Rinse the basmati rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 20 minutes.
Drain and set aside.
Sauté Aromatics
Heat oil or ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan.
Add the cinnamon stick and let it release its aroma.
Add the sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.
Add the minced garlic and cook for a minute until fragrant.
Cook the Mushrooms
Add the sliced mushrooms and a pinch of salt.
Sauté until they shrink and release their moisture.
Stir in chili flakes and black pepper. Mix well.
