Rugby 08 is arguably the best release in the Rugby series to be published by EA Sports. The game allows players to play as 20 different Rugby nations, both major and minor, and includes many tournaments, such as the Rugby World Cup, Tri Nations, Six Nations, Guinness Premiership and Super 14.

The commentary is provided by Ian Robertson and former All Blacks great Grant Fox. Although Rugby 08 has no online gameplay modes, a strong community and modding community has evolved following its cult status.

The Six Nations Championship is an annual international men's rugby union competition between the teams of England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales. The current champions are France, who won the 2022 tournament.
