Super Mario 64 BLJ.... on a 3DS

Recently, I made a video where I performed a Super Mario 64 (SM64) speedrunning glitch/trick called "Cannonless", on an unofficial 3DS port of SM64. People seemed to like that video - perhaps just by the sight of vanilla SM64 running on a 3DS - so I decided to do another speedrunning technique on this 3DS port. This time, it's the Backwards Long Jump, or BLJ.
As the name implies, it's a long jump, but backwards. If you just long jump backwards on flat, motionless ground, nothing special happens. But on some stairs, slopes, and platforms moving upwards, if you do it just right, Mario will gain a lot of backwards speed. The BLJ has several applications in speedrunning, including skipping the endless staircase.
Sorry if this ruins your childhood, but the endless staircase isn't actually endless, even if you have less than 70 stars. How it works is, when you get to a certain spot on the stairs, you get teleported to a lower spot on the stairs. That's it. However, with the BLJ, it's possible to gain enough speed to go past the teleport, without teleporting, allowing you to reach the top with less than 70 stars.
If you want to know more about the BLJ and it's applications, the search box is your friend. As for the SM64 3DS port, a link is below. Read the description of that video to learn how to acquire it. I will warn you, there are technical steps involved, and even though I knew what I was doing for the most part, and as far as I know wasn't doing anything wrong, I didn't have much luck with it, though I did get it to work eventually.

One last thing. The gag at 4:14 was inspired by Lazy Game Reviews, A.K.A. LGR. Me saying "Endless Long Jump" was a legit slip of the tongue, but I decided to make the best of it.
