Overview :
First & Largest Coal Mine of Uttar Pradesh.
Bina Extension Block is the extension part of existing Bina Old Mine.
Project is sanctioned by Govt. of India on 22.11.2006 for targeted Coal production of 6.0 MTPA.
There are three coal seams namely Purewa top (8m), Purew Bottom (9-10m) & Turra seam (18-20m).
EMP sanctioned by MoEF on 02.08.2006 for 6.0 MTPA.
EC sanctioned by MoEF on 06.08.2014 for 7.5 MTPA .
Project is having Deshaling Plant of 4.5 MTPA capacity integrated with CHP for 34% +/- 1% Ash content Coal (finished product).
Project is linked with Up Country Power houses – Kota, Suratgarh, Rajghat & Panipat.
Bina- Kakri Amalgamation for 10 MTPA (Approved in Principle by NCL Board in 2011).

Brief description of Krishnashila Project
The Krishnashila Project started in April 2007. The project is located in South-Eastern part of Moher basin of Singrauli Coalfield in Sonebhadra District of UP. The project is well connected to Varanasi in UP about 200km and to Jabalpur in MP about 350km. The nearest railway station is Krishnashila in UP about 3km and Singrauli Railway Station in MP about 24km. The project is designed to produce 5 million tonnes of Coal per year with total coal reserves 99.12 million tonnes. The total land is 851.78 ha. The maximum depth of the quarry is 180m. The mine is being worked by the combination of dragline and shovel/dumper. The total capital outlay of the mine is Rs. 741.62 Crore. In the year 2014-15, the mine produced 4.952 MT of coal and 98.25 lac Cum. OBR.See More

Shaktinagar is fully connected by road to various cities through NH 75, SH 5A and is also connected directly via Trains like: Triveni Express (Bareilly To Shaktinagar), Singrauli-Varanasi Intercity (Singrauli to Varanasi), Singrauli-Jabalpur Intercity (Singrauli to Jabalpur) and Shaktinagar Passenger (Shaktinagar to Chopan).
