Irish Rail 071 class loco (075) on 'Steam Enterprise' - 27 September 2015

Описание: On Sunday the 27th of September 2015, The Railway Preservation Society of Ireland ran their ''Steam Enterprise'' excursion from Belfast Central to Connolly Station and back.

This tour was slightly different compared to most Seam Enterprise tours, for the Belfast - Dundalk leg of the trip steam loco No. 85 Merlin worked the tour, and the Dundalk - Connolly leg of the trip was worked by Irish Rail 071 class loco number 075.

The reason why it was put like this is because due to engineering works in Connolly Yard, steam loco No. 85 could not access the turntable, so because of this a diesel locomotive had to take over from Dundalk.

We start the day off in Kilbarrack, Dublin where we see Irish Rail 071 class loco No. 075 passing through with the RPSI Mark 2 coaches.

I then jump on the next Dart down to Connolly where we see 075 coupling up to its train on Platform 5 in Connolly. Once it was coupled up the crew and passengers had a two hour break in Dublin, and while the train was empty I also managed to have a look inside the RPSI Mark 2 coaches for the very first time in my life.

Once the clock hit 15.00 the tour left Connolly, and we see it again but this time passing Howth Junction, usually it takes most express trains 10 minutes to cover the distance between Connolly and Howth Junction, but on this rare occasion the tour managed to cover the distance in six minutes !, it passed through Howth Junction at 15.06.
