How to downgrade the iPhone 5 from iOS 10.3.4 to iOS 8.4.1

Описание: [Open me] In this tutorial I will show you how to downgrade your iPhone 5 (or iPad 4) from iOS 10.3.4 to 8.4.1.

This tutorial can also be used to downgrade the iPhone 4S, the 5th generation iPod Touch and the iPad 2/3/Mini from 9.3.5 or 9.3.6 to 8.4.1. Use the Phoenix jailbreak (https://phoenixpwn.com) and follow the same steps (Jailbreak, get Filza, edit the plist, reboot, update, erase all settings)

Alternatively, the iPhone 4S, and iPad 2 models iPad2,1, 2,2 and 2,3, but NOT 2,4 (Mid-2012, available only as Wi-Fi 16GB) can be downgraded to 6.1.3 with the IPSW (it's signed!) and then updated over the air to 8.4.1.

If you already know how to jailbreak your device, skip to 4:18
(If you've already tweaked your device, you really should restore to clean iOS and re-jailbreak before you follow this tutorial)



I forgot to mention it in the video, but if you're getting provision.cpp:71 ("...current iOS Development certificate...") in Cydia Impactor, go to Xcode and then Revoke Certificates.
Always make sure you're running the latest Cydia Impactor in order to not run into any issues.

To prevent update downloads once you're on 8.4.1, download the latest tvOS Beta Profile (tvOS 11 at the moment of recording the video, tvOS 12 at the moment of updating the description, tvOS 13 at the moment of re-updating the description) and reboot your device.



This does NOT work on the iPhone 5C! (It never had iOS 6 as it was released with the 5S, both of which started with iOS 7)
This also does not work on the iPhone 5S or any newer iPhone, either.

Now that you're on iOS 8, what can you do?
You can use your device as-is and stay stock. You can expect better performance overall compared to iOS 10.

You can also jailbreak with EtasonJB (untethered!) and tweak your device to your liking. You can even dual boot with another version of iOS using CoolBooter! (iOS 6, anyone? With CoolBooter Untetherer, you can have your device automatically boot into the secondary OS)

The only problem you might face is app support, as some apps no longer provide support for iOS 8.
