Upper Slaughter in the Gloucestershire Cotswold's is known as a double thankful village because all those who went away to fight in both world wars returned. The name Slaughter comes from Old English meaning 'muddy place'.The Slaughters are mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. After St. Peter’s
We see the The Old School House, now a Grade II listed building.
The village is built on both banks of the River Eye.
We were going to film Lower Slaughter bur it was like Brighton beach on a bank holiday Monday.
