Former UK ambassador to the US Peter Mandelson has been arrested by the Metropolitan Police.
The former Labour politician has been under scrutiny due to his close ties to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Police released a statement saying: “Officers have arrested a 72-year-old man on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
“He was arrested at an address in Camden on Monday, 23 February, and has been taken to a London police station for interview.”
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is expected to cop more backlash over his previous appointment of Mr Mandelson following his arrest.
