This video is one of what I call my "ghost paintings" where I photograph the entire process in stop motion. I made this back in 2017, and it's one of my favorite models videos in my reel. This was a great exercise in comping and masking in the edit, mostly because the animation happens inside the old photo album.
I usually reserve these ghost painting videos as gifts for loved ones, but I think this is the only one I did for myself, just for the joy of it. This is where I really started to work in more stylistic elements from the source material, and might also be the first time I lent my voice to a model for the reveal.
Sculpted by Mark Van Tine for Gillman Productions, this bust is one of the favorites of my collection. It took home a Gold award at JerseyFest, as well as First Place figure model at Chiller Theatre, where I got to show it to Dennis Christopher, who played Eddie Kaspbrak in the 1990 miniseries. What's more, I had the honor of showing it to Tim Curry himself at Monster Mania, and gift him a copy of the video!
