MG Hector Summary
MG announced a minor price hike in January across the model range. Prices have been hiked by up to 3 percent and the Hector is now more expensive by up to Rs 45,000. Earlier, in October 2024, MG introduced the ‘Snowstorm’ edition of the SUV that featured a white and black dual-tone paintjob with red inserts.

The MG Hector starts at a price of Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base petrol manual ‘Style’ variant, and goes all the way up to Rs 22.89 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec petrol CVT ‘Savvy Pro’ variant. Diesel manual models range from Rs 18.58 lakh to Rs 22.57 lakh (ex-showroom).

MG Hector is available in six broad variants: Style, Shine Pro, Select Pro, Smart Pro, Sharp Pro and Savvy Pro. MG has introduced a few special editions of the Hector such as the ‘Blackstorm’, ‘Snowstorm’ and the ‘100-year Special Edition’.

The MG Hector is feature loaded! A 14-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 7-inch fully-digital driver’s display and a 8-speaker sound system take care of infotainment. Both front seats are electrically adjustable (6-way for the driver and 4-way for the co-driver), and have seat ventilation also. Other highlights include a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, wireless phone charging and automatic climate control are on offer.

The MG Hector is offered with two engine options:
1.5-litre turbo-petrol: This four-cylinder engine makes 143 PS and 250 Nm. It’s available with a 6-speed manual or a CVT. Notably, MG has discontinued the DCT gearbox option with this engine.
2.0-litre diesel: This engine is shared with other vehicles in the segment such as the Tata Harrier and the Tata Safari. In the Hector, the output stands at 170 PS and 350 Nm. A 6-speed manual is the only gearbox available. MG does not offer a diesel-automatic combination with the Hector.

Safety features of the MG Hector include up to 6 airbags (2 are offered as standard), ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera and a tyre pressure monitoring system. Higher variants of the Hector feature Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) with features such as automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and forward collision warning. Notably, the MG Hector has not been crash tested either by Global or Bharat NCAP.

Colour options include six single-tone shades and one dual-tone option. Havana Grey, Candy White, Glaze Red, Aurora Silver, Starry Black, Dune Brown, and Dual-tone White & Black are on offer.

For petrol models:
1 month / 1000km: First Service
6 months / 5000km: Second Service
1 year / 10000km: Third Service

Thereafter scheduled maintenance is required every 10000km or 1 year.

For diesel models:
1 month / 1000km: First Service
6 months / 7500km: Second Service
1 year / 15000km: Third Service

Thereafter scheduled maintenance is required every 15000km or 1 year.

As standard, all variants of the MG Hector are offered with a 3 year / unlimited km warranty. This can be further extended by picking up the optional extended warranty.

MG currently offers three special editions of the Hector. This includes the ‘Blackstorm’ (finished in all-black with red highlights), ‘Snowstorm’ (finished in white-black dual-tone with red highlights), and a ‘100-year Special Edition’ (available in a unique green shade). These special editions have only visual differences and do not have any extra features compared to the variant they’re based on.
