ESO DPS Companion Setup Guide 2026 | Ember, Mirri & Tanlorin Builds Explained

Описание: 🎮 In this video I walk through how I personally have my three DPS companions set up in Elder Scrolls Online — Ember, Mirri Elendis, and Tanlorin — including the skills I chose for each, the reasoning behind those choices, and why I recommend medium armor for all three DPS builds.

⚔️ COMPANION BREAKDOWNS
Ember is a Khajiit Sorcerer companion whose racial passive increases Critical Chance and damage done, making her a natural fit for a DPS role. I have her set up on an inferno staff with a hybrid single-target and AoE skill loadout pulling from her Lightning Caller and Mischievous Caster skill lines, including Crystal Frags, Hurricane Vis, Elemental Barricade, Shocking Burst, and her execute Thunderous Strike. Her ultimate, Raging Storm, deals 300% more damage to enemies below 25% health and pairs nicely with her execute for cleanup on low-health targets and add pulls.

Mirri Elendis is a Dark Elf (Dunmer) Nightblade companion whose racial passive increases both damage done and healing done. I run her on a bow setup focused on boss fights, using Life Absorption from her Soul Thief skill line, Viper’s Bite from the bow skill line, Shadow Slash from the Deadly Assassin skill line, Sniping Silver from the Fighters Guild, and her execute Slayer’s Blade. Her ultimate also applies a debuff that causes enemies to take 20% more damage for 3 seconds — a nice burst window if you time your own abilities around it.

Tanlorin is a High Elf companion who mixes Dragonknight and Soul Magic abilities and is set up on a dual wield dagger build. I have Razor Cape for a 20% damage reduction buff, Volcanic Arms from the Radiating Heart skill line for Major Brutality and Sorcery for the group, Explosive Fortitude for AoE magic damage over time, Extinguishing Breath from the Draconic Armor skill line for fire damage and self-healing, and Spinning Steel as a versatile execute that can be used at any health threshold. Note that some of these skills have longer cooldowns (~15 seconds), so Tanlorin is a work in progress — cooldown efficiency is the single biggest factor I recommend focusing on when building any companion.

🛡️ ARMOR RECOMMENDATION
I recommend medium armor for all DPS companions. The Flexibility passive grants 1% increased damage done per piece equipped (up to 7% at full medium armor), and also reduces the cooldown on their roll dodge. Light armor primarily benefits healing and break free, and heavy armor focuses on healing received and blocking — neither of which is relevant on a DPS-focused build.

💡 GENERAL TIPS
Companion DPS is roughly around 5,000 DPS in most situations — it’s a nice supplement but not a game-changer. Focus on low-cooldown skills to keep your companion firing as often as possible, since they have no resource system. I also strongly advise against using the Vanish skill on any companion — it has a 35-second cooldown, removes them from combat for 6 seconds every time they drop below 50% health, and occupies a valuable skill slot. If your companion dies, use the quick resurrection trick instead (linked below). I will be doing a separate video on traits once I have enough live-game data to give a reliable answer.
