The 1985 Disney film, Return to Oz, is known for being dark, in stark contrast to another, more famous film based on L. Frank Baum's Oz books, 1939's The Wizard of Oz. However, it could have been even DARKER. Some elements were removed to soften the film up, at least a little bit, as this video explains.
