The political temperature in Assam has risen ahead of the Assembly elections. While the Bharatiya Janata Party is trying to return to power, the Congress is looking to end its streak of defeats.

As part of this effort, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi reached the poll-bound state on Thursday, February 19. She is leading the screening committee for the party’s candidates in Assam. During her two-day visit, she will hold meetings with Congress leaders and members of the screening panel.

असम में विधानसभा चुनाव से पहले सियासी पारा बढ़ चुका है. भारतीय जनता पार्टी जहां सत्ता में वापसी की कोशिशों में जुटी है तो वहीं कांग्रेस हार का सिलसिला तोड़ना चाहती है. इसी प्रयास में कांग्रेस महासचिव प्रियंका गांधी 19 फरवरी गुरुवार को इस चुनावी राज्य के दौरे पर पहुंची. प्रियंका असम में पार्टी उम्मीदवारों के लिए स्क्रीनिंग कमेटी का नेतृत्व कर रही हैं. वह यहां पर दो दिन कांग्रेस नेताओं और स्क्रीनिंग पैनल के साथ मीटिंग करेंगी
