Today I’ll take you from start to finish as we design, 3D print, and cast a silicone tail for my newest swimbait.

This tutorial shows how you can combine 3D printing with lure building to create your own silicone molds for fins, tails, or even soft baits. All the modelling steps use basic 3D design functions that are available in most CAD and slicing software, so you can follow along and apply this to your own fishing lure projects.

The result is a custom 3D printed swimbait with a flexible silicone tail - a great way to mix hard bait design with soft bait action. My goal is to share how easy it is to create molds and start experimenting with your own lure ideas at home with a 3D printer .
