Goodbye Stampede Corral | Thanks For 70 Years In Calgary

Описание: Been almost a full year since I've been down to Stampede Park in Calgary and wanted to check out the progress with the demolition of the Stampede Corral. As you see in the video the Stampede Corral demolition is underway as part of the BMO Centre expansion at Stampede Park. I've walked around from the front of the Scotiabank Saddledome and all the way back to the main entrance to the BMO Centre to see and say my final goodbyes to the Stampede Corral.

The arena and event centre has been a part of Calgary for over 70 years since it's opening back in 1950. Even though most of the Stampede Corral history predates me. Still feel sad about the demolition and aware of the history that I touch upon in my video clips in between the pictures I've taken. This arena has seen several events, concerts and sports teams ranging from many that I've talked about in my Remember The Calgary Series. Gets more surreal as that just a couple of years prior I took in the Calgary Hitmen Corral Series to take in the final hockey games that took place in the Stampede Corral. Also still blows my mind away that at one time the Stampede Corral was home to the Calgary Flames for three seasons when they first moved from Atlanta, Georgia.

Goodbye Stampede Corral and thanks for being a part of Calgary for over 70 years. All footage was captured with my Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus on Saturday, January 30th, 2021.
