This tutorial shows how to use GNOME Design to create a 2D floor plan of a garage. GNOME Design is a 2D CAD (Computer Aided Design) application which creates drawings in the DXF file format. It is available on Linux only.
The tutorial shows how to use basic tools of GNOME Design to create a 2D floor plan drawing. It shows how to use Layer manager to create and setup layers. Basic garage geometry is created using the line, rectangle, copy, move and trim tools. Editing object properties is also demonstrated. Users can set up line types and line weights Doors are created using the Arc tool. The final touch is creation of text and hatches with various patterns.
