One of the oldest apple trees in North America discovered in Maine

Описание: A couple of years ago, several apple historians sent leaf samples from this tree, along with hundreds of others, to a lab for genetic testing. Recently, they got the results back: this Maine tree is the only known living specimen of its kind in North America. The Drap d’Or is one of a few historic apples that are the genetic ancestors of many of the common varieties we eat today.
