44. How To Fix and Salvage Jump Rings and Bad Welds - Free Permanent Jewelry Training

Описание: This video is for Morgan (from Florida) - she asked if there is any way of salvaging a jump ring that has balled up (or has become deformed after it has failed to weld securely).

Although 925 silver and gold filled jump rings are inexpensive ($0.06 and $0.12 ea, respectively) and your time costs far more trying to fix it than to just use a new one when a client is waiting, sometimes you're short on them!  Also, for solid 14k gold, they are over $2 ea.  (And let's not get me started about waste, and the need to reduce, reuse and recycle).  So, this is a skill that one should master - it will come in handy.  

The key here is to have a pair of good flush cutters (that can cut wire with one end completely flat).  If your jump ring ends have balled up, you can flatten the balled area a little - this will give you "more jump ring".
