How to Smoke Frog Legs | Easy Frog Leg Recipe

Today on Armadillo Pepper TV….I’m going to smoke Frog Legs! That’s right, let's cook some frog legs! We don’t get to have frog legs around here that often, so today is a special treat for us. When preparing your frog legs, always remember that less is better. Don’t hide the delicate flavor of the frog legs with lots of marinades and spices.
Do you need to brine frog legs when preparing in the smoker? Brining is not as important for frog legs. The legs will only be in the smoker for 30 minutes to an hour, so they won’t get tough. I usually brine, but only for about 1-2 hours. If you did brine, make sure to rinse off the legs with water to get rid of any excess salt when you remove from the brine.
I like to take about ½ cup of olive oil per 2 lbs of frog legs and mix 4 teaspoons of Slap Ya Mama Cajun Seasoning. You can read more about Slap Ya Mama here: http://armadillopepper.com/Slap-Ya-Ma...
Pour the olive oil and seasoning in a one gallon bag, add the frog legs and make sure to get them coated well.
Set the smoker at 225 degrees. Use a lighter wood to not overwhelm the oysters. I’m using a combination of Alder and Cherry wood.
