This is the theatrical trailer for the 1988 supernatural horror feature "Hellbound: Hellraiser II", the second entry in the "Hellraiser" movie franchise and the first sequel to the 1987 feature "Hellraiser", adapted from the 1986 Clive Barker novella "The Hellbound Heart".
Barker, who wrote and directed the first movie, returns as an executive producer.
Directed by Tony Randel, the movie was released through New World Pictures on December 23, 1988.
In the past, sometime after World War I, British military Captain Elliott Spencer (Doug Bradley) is seen in an abandoned bunker solving the infamous Lament Configuration. Hooks and chains emerge from the box and tear into his flesh, transforming him into the murderous Cenobite Pinhead.
Directly after the events of "Hellraiser" years later, Kirsty Cotton (Ashley Laurence) is committed to the Channard Institute. Dr. Channard (Ken Cranham) and his assistant Dr. Kyle MacRae (William Hope of "Aliens") listen as she recounts her story of her experience. She pleads with them to destroy the bloody mattress that her murderous stepmother Julia Cotton (Clare Higgins) died upon.
Channard has the mattress moved to his home, which has multiple drawings and art of the Lament Configuration. He then brings in a mentally ill patient who likes to cut himself and has hit sit on the mattress where he begins to cut himself. Right then, a bloodied body emerges and sucks the life out of the mental patient. It's revealed to be a skinless Julia Cotton, who has escaped the box. Channard tends to her by feeding her multiple patients in order for her to regenerate her skin. MacRae watches this hidden in a corner and comes to believe Kirsty's story.
When MacRae returns to the house with Kirsty, he discovers Julia, who sucks the life out of him, fully regenerating herself. After discovering this, Kirsty is knocked out by Julia.
Channard also kidnaps mental patient Tiffany (Imogen Boorman) who has an aptitude with puzzles, and has her solve the puzzle box, so he and Julia can explore.
After showing him around the Labyrinth, Julia betrays Channard to the god of hell, Leviathan, who proceeds to transform him into a Cenobite.
Kirsty also goes inside the box to search for her dead father Larry, whom she has received messages from. It turns out that they were a ruse put together by Frank Cotton (Sean Chapman). Frank is then killed by Julia in revenge for his having killed her. As Kirsty and Tiffany attempt to escape, Julia is sucked into a vortex of the Labyrinth, leaving only her skin behind.
Kirsty and Tiffany reconnect and attempt to escape, but are ambushed by Channard, who has now become a Cenobite. The girls flee and encounter Pinhead and his Cenobites. Kirsty shows Pinhead a photograph of Spencer that she took from Channard's study, and he gradually remembers that he was human; the other Cenobites remember that they were human also. Suddenly, Channard appears and beckons Tiffany, who regains her ability to talk. Pinhead and the other Cenobites attempt to fight him, but Channard easily overpowers and kills them all; before being killed, Spencer exchanges a poignant glance with Kirsty.
Channard traps Kirsty and Tiffany. Kirsty finds Julia's skin and wears it to distract Channard, giving Tiffany enough time to once again solve the Lament Configuration. Channard is killed and the door to hell is finally closed. The girls leave the hospital.
Elsewhere, two moving men are removing Dr. Channard's belongings from his home. One is pulled inside of the mattress, and the other witnesses a mysterious pillar rise from within it. One of the faces fused to the pillar is the vagrant from the previous film, which asks the man, "What's your pleasure, sir?"
