Springs are made on state-of-the-art CNC compression coiling equipment that uses vision and laser SPC systems to, not only sort the free length but also adjust it.
After the springs get coiled, they go through our stress-relieving ovens.
MW Industries uses in-line ovens, and batch furnace ovens which all have digital controllers and digital recording charts that allow us to adhere to all national heat treatment standards.
Then they go through our grinding process and then onto outside services.
MW Components cold coiled wire range is 0.004” to as large as 0.625”. And our hot wound wire ranges is 0.625” to as large as 1.875”.
We serve all different markets from automotive to medical to general industrial to aerospace.
A lot of the compression springs here at our facility are out of various types of materials from chrome silicon, oil tempered, high nickel alloys, stainless steels, and some low carbon type materials.
Materials are important because we want to make sure that whatever environment that the spring is working in, we are using the appropriate material.
If there are acids or high temperatures, there are specific materials you want to use in those applications so that the spring in that application will hold up through the life of the unit.
MW Industries uses a robust ERP system that is fully integrated among our 21 locations. This process allows us to collaborate on those resources.
It’s best to get us involved on your designs as early as possible to avoid designing a spring that would be in an over-stressed condition that could lead to not reaching the performance levels of the spring that the customer’s engineers are requiring.
