Salvation’s Edge has a paradox: on one hand, it’s my favorite raid, boasting some of the greatest lore, storytelling, atmosphere, and mechanics the Destiny franchise has to offer; on the other hand, I rarely run it because it feels like a chore to do with a team I’m not fully comfortable with or who doesn’t have a solid grasp on all the mechanics. How can something so great feel so terrible? I think the answer is fundamentally tied to the raid’s greatness. Let’s review this raid and unpack the paradox.
