Millions of children face poverty, abuse, and neglect—trapped in cycles they didn’t choose. This talk by Atty. Stewart Levitt sheds light on their struggles and the urgent need for collective action. By fostering awareness, accountability, and advocacy, we can create a future where every child is safe, supported, and empowered to thrive. Stewart Levitt is best known for his work as a lawyer, successfully fighting public causes against banks and governments for the underdog, be they Indigenous Australian outliers or down-at-the heel farmers.
Levitt is also a poet whose verse exudes passion, laced with compassion. His recently released anthology of poetry, “Too Soon to Be Late“, was Levitt’s take on an “Australian retrospective” and covers race relations, international politics, religion and the human condition.
“We Mortals” is the international edition of “Too Soon to Be Late“, published with the US reader in mind and includes new work about Australia’s bushfires. He also vents on “Green” concerns and addresses Jewish identity in the face of latterday antisemitism, as well as reflecting on his recent visit to a remote Indigenous Australian community on the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf. It is available for purchase on Amazon. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
