How Your MIND Turns Into Your Greatest Enemy | Bhagavad Gita Explained #bhagavadgita
🌺 About this Video
Instead of the traditional verse → translation → purport method, this series introduces a new, practical way of learning –
This series breaks down the core concepts of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita into simple, easy-to-understand sections. Use them like flashcards to revisit key teachings and apply spiritual wisdom in your daily life with clarity and purpose.
📌1. The mind is the source of all perceptions. If Mind is in dream, we hear but it doesn't get registered.
📌2. The function of the Mind is Thinking. It does not matter what it thinks but it is fact that it thinks. One can not put the mind completely at rest without thinking something.
📌3. Thinking happens in the mind which is a subtle body. Thinking doesn’t happen in the brain which is a gross body.
📌4. The uncontrolled mind is the biggest enemy.
📌5. As long as the mind is contaminated by 3 modes of material nature, the mind is just like a mad elephant. A mad elephant can kill others and can kill itself.
📌6. An uncontrolled mind flows like a river. A mind that is out of control can produce Lust, Anger, Envy.
📌7. The mind can act as our friend or enemy. A steady mind brings peace. An agitated mind can bring havoc for oneself and others.
📌8. Our inability of the mind to handle situations as they emerge disturbs our peace of mind.
📌9. Brahma Jijnasa is the inquiry in the mind to know who you are, why you are suffering, where you come from, and where you will go.
📌10. A "Sage of steady mind" is a person who is free of attachment, fear, and anger, and is not disturbed even in times of misery or elated in times of happiness.
📌11. Samadhi means steady mind. It is the state in which the mind is fixed for understanding the self. If the mind is busy in a sense of enjoyment and bewildered by temporary things, then Samadhi is not possible.
📌12. If the Mind is restless and unsteady, it goes helter-skelter, so it needs to be tamed.
📌 13. Tame the Mind with spiritual forces. By the power of Soul.
📌14. Mantra which consists of Man+Tra (Man means the Mind and Tra means thing that can tame the Mind).
📌15. We work with our minds and intelligence rather than our bodies.
📌16. Perfection in Yoga is achieved by Mind control. The mind can not be controlled, it can only be engaged. Therefore in Bhakti Yoga, we keep the Mind fixed on the Lord.
📌17. If the mind and intelligence engage in the service of the Lord, then the senses naturally engage in His service.
📌18. The mind needs to be tamed so that it does not become too attached to sensual pleasure and material opulence.
📌19. Without being fully Krishna conscious, controlling one's mind and senses is extremely challenging.
📌20. One cannot stop engaging the mind in material enjoyment unless engages the mind in Krishna.
📌21. Because Krishna's consciousness is such a wonderful transcendental, that material pleasure automatically becomes distasteful. As if a man who was starving got enough nutritious food to satisfy his hunger. As if a man suffering from the heat of the Sun gets shelter.
📌22. We should always engage our minds in reading Vedic literature given to us by Vyasadeva. However, materialists engage their minds in reading numerous materialistic books, magazines, and newspapers.
📌23. Though many learned sages, philosophers, and transcendentalists attempted to control the senses, even the greatest of them occasionally fall victim to material sense enjoyment due to the agitated mind. Therefore it is very difficult to control the mind and senses without being fully Krishna conscious.
📌24. One who restricts senses but his mind dwells on sense objects is called a pretender.
📌25. Engage your mind in Krishna rather than material things. Fix your mind in the lotus feet of Lord Krishna.
