This is my first time riding on AC Transit route 51A. This bus ride here was also my first time visiting Alameda by public transit. The 51A usually operates diesel Gilligs, and a few times it uses its Gillig EVs. This is a 2022 Diesel Gillig, one of the newest Gilligs AC Transit recently bought. I took this bus from Downtown Oakland into Downtown Alameda to visit the area around Park Street and South Shore Center. Alameda is a great city to visit with low crime rates, compared to Oakland where crime rates are above average.
