FinTech, within the broader context of financial innovation, is disrupting the financial services industry in every aspect. However, its ability to thrive and scale, especially across borders, faces numerous challenges. This research identifies 5 building blocks for the future of FinTech, and lays out action lines and areas of potential impact to guide research, policy and practice. Prof. Anne-Laure Mention is the Director of the Global Business Innovation Enabling Capability Platform at RMIT University, Australia; a Visiting Fintech and Blockchain Fellow at SUSS, Singapore and a visiting professor at Tampere University, Finland.
