Chief's Media Briefing on Homicide at 1122 Union on 8/23/19

Victim #1: Jurnee Thompson, 8-year old Black Female, of the 6900 Block of Alberici
Victim #2: 16-year old Black Male
Victim #3: 16-year old Black Male
Victim #4: 64-year old Black Female
Suspect(s): Unknown
Following several football games at Soldan High School, numerous fights broke out as the crowds were exiting. At approximately 7:17 p.m., an “Officer in Need of Aid” call was dispatched, and officers responded from numerous Districts to assist. Shortly after 8:00 p.m., and while officers were still on scene dispersing the crowds; several gunshots were heard just north of Soldan High School. The victims were located in the parking lot of the above business, all suffering from gunshot wounds. EMS transported all the victims to a hospital where Victim #1 was later pronounced deceased. Victim #2 and #3 were listed in serious/stable condition, and Victim #4 was listed a stable. The Homicide Division responded and is handling the ongoing investigation.
