We continue our ITF Legacy Series with Yul-Gok Tul - the fifth pattern in Taekwon-Do with 38 movements.
Yul-Gok (률곡 / 栗谷) is the pseudonym of the great philosopher and scholar Yi I (1536–1584), often referred to as the “Confucius of Korea.”
The 38 movements of this Tul represent his birthplace at the 38th parallel, while the diagram of the pattern symbolizes a scholar, reflecting his lifelong dedication to learning, ethics, and statecraft.
Demonstrated by Ms. Pak Ji Hyang (4th Dan, Female, aged 24), a distinguished Taekwon-Do athlete of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committe.
Ms. Pak is a triple gold medalist, with titles from the 12th Junior ITF Taekwon-Do World Championships, 22nd ITF Taekwon-Do World Championships, and 10th Asian Taekwon-Do Championships.
