At the end of Hellblade we ended up having an important talk about the topic of personal loss and how the game made a beautiful and transformative story out of the journey through the emotional turmoil that is personal loss and grief.
The pain never really goes away, but it gets less and less as time goes by. Eventually we will end up wistfully remembering the good experiences we had. Being thankful for the time you get rather than the time you lost will eventually come to the forefront of your mind.
Accepting Death as a concept is hard. It's scary and dark, but an unfortunate prerequisite for our own enjoyment of Life itself.
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is a masterpiece of digital interactive story telling and is so incredibly much more than a game.
