The pandemic has made experiencing loss extremely common. But sometimes the symptoms of grief remain hidden beneath the surface. When that happens, we often find ourselves waiting for life to happen to us, rather than FOR us.

In this conversation with Ray Warner, he shares his insights into how he helps people move forward after loss. Having lost his own wife at the age of 22, he's well acquainted with the powerful effect that grief can have on our lives.

The strategies he shares are meant to help you regain control over your life after loss.

It starts by recognizing when you’re grieving. It doesn’t have to be a death. The symptoms of grief can occur when experiencing a loss of any kind. Some of those symptoms can include feeling stuck, feeling depressed, and even losing the desire to do things.

The next step is to figure out what you want, and why you want it. As Ray explains, grief is the vision of life that you had before a loss occurred. You may not be able to make that vision a reality anymore, but you can adapt and find new ways to get what you want and move on.

The best way to go from feeling stuck to taking action is with a coach or therapist. You need someone who can give you a new perspective on what you’re feeling and thinking. When experiencing loss, you shouldn’t try to go through it alone.
