It's costing 30 million pounds, it's one of the biggest projects of its kind in the country, and its aim is to take international interest in Nottingham and Robin Hood to a whole new level.
Nottingham Castle is currently undergoing a huge makeover to turn it into one of the UK's premier heritage sites.
The ambition is to have 400 thousand visitors flocking to the castle every year, and a new chief executive has just been appointed to make that dream a reality. Our correspondent Peter Bearne has been to meet her and to see how the work is progressing.
