After a thrilling and atmospheric finale, the Portuguese mezzo-soprano Cláudia Ribas became the convincing winner of the 57th edition of the International Vocal Competition. Mayor Mikkers of 's-Hertogenbosch presented her with the Grand Prix of the city of 's-Hertogenbosch: a silver medal and a cash prize of € 15,000. The 31-year-old Ribas also turned out to be the public’s favorite, with which she won the ANED Audience Award. She also won the Wagner Prize and the Junior Jury Prize. Cláudia Ribas, who obtained her Bachelor’s degree at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and is currently affiliated with the opera studio of the Opera in Frankfurt.
