SUMMARY
Your offers aren’t going to come in at the same time. When a coach makes you an offer, make sure you thank them for the opportunity and let them know you are interested in their program.
It is OK to tell the coach that you need some time to think it over. Ask them when they need your response.
The best leverage you have when negotiating your athletic scholarship offer is legitimate offers from other schools.
Receiving an athletic scholarship offer does not mean you are automatically accepted into the college or university. You still need to go through the admissions process.
Depending on the overall cost of the school, the largest scholarship offer might not be the cheapest, or best, option.
Keep in mind that scholarship offers are only good for one year.
Remember, verbal offers from coaches are not binding. Nothing is official until you sign a National Letter of Intent (NLI).
Athletic scholarship offers can be combined with other scholarship opportunities.
