On June 22, the Church honors Saint Thomas More and Saint John Fisher, two courageous martyrs of the English Reformation. Both were executed for refusing to accept King Henry VIII as head of the Church of England.
St. Thomas More: A brilliant lawyer and Lord Chancellor who chose conscience over king.
St. John Fisher: Bishop of Rochester, the only English bishop to remain loyal to the Pope.
They stood for truth, faith, and integrity—even at the cost of their lives.
Feast Day: June 22
Patron Saints of: Lawyers (More), Teachers and those persecuted for the faith (Fisher)
