Designed to neutralise contaminants directly at their source
The PCP process will guide the development, prototyping and validation of innovative solutions across three competitive phases.

What challenges are we addressing?
Hospital effluents contain complex pharmaceutical pollutants that conventional treatments cannot fully remove. THERESA seeks cutting-edge, scalable and environmentally responsible solutions capable of treating contaminants on site, before they reach public water systems.
We are particularly interested in technologies capable of removing cytostatic drugs, contrast agents, antibiotics and antibiotic-resistant bacteria and genes.

THERESA is driven by a European Buyers Group formed by seven public healthcare organisations from five countries, all facing the shared challenge of ensuring safe and sustainable hospital wastewater management.
