When someone comes — you simply feel it.
Something stirs before even the first glance —
like a whisper seeping through the cracks,
carrying the warmth of life,
a quiet fire filling the hollows the world once left cold.

You begin to notice the cracks —
how essential they are.
They are what allow life to enter.
You are no longer the stone weathered by time;
you are the stone that blooms under the sun’s fracture.
No longer flaws filled with dust,
but wells gathering sunlight within them.
Pit after pit begins to shine,
and you understand —
love is not a promise,
nor a perfection,
but a path of light threading through the dust of night.
And the night, it seems so gentle,
waiting for the shared mornings to rise.

Yet there comes a day when the sun bids you farewell,
and it feels like the farewell that ends all farewells —
leaving behind a long night,
a night losing its warmth, slowly.
And when night becomes the whole day,
it begins to lead you.
And when it leads you…
you grow used to the road.
You come to believe
that you can no longer trust your warmth
outside the black.
Black — the only place where warmth remains,
not reflected, not fading,
but absorbed for you, without demand or return.

Someone asks you,
Where did the pink go?
— the color you once loved with?
So you show them your night,
a night without directions,
a night where you can’t recall
whether you walked barefoot through it
or pushed your colors into it.
You show them the black,
where colors dissolve into its shade without mercy.

And if they smile at you...
cast your spell upon them from your darkness —
you, suspended there,
watching in pixelated solitude from the bat’s corner. 🦇
Then ask them to show you the present, now!

Don’t listen to their answer —
write it instead.
It too will take flight —
origami birds bound by threads of your hair,
rising into the twilight sky.
They rest at stations,
then return —
embers at their wings —
following the same silken path,
back into the darkness of the heavens —
not to illuminate,
but to finish burning,
to merge with their own smoke.

And at dawn, you will sleep beside your glass sphere,
where love has no home except within it —
no bullets,
no first lies.
There, you remain in the dark,
waiting for love in the dark,
with half a heart,
with half a faith —
enough for the flame to grant you half a life.

Content with an anchor
that keeps you wandering the streets,
a bag in your hand hissing softly as it turns...
There — in the game of dreams —
you survive on halves,
far from the loaf of love.

And perhaps that is the trouble…
or not the trouble at all.

For the true trouble is in how we insist—quietly, stubbornly—
on believing it unique, unrepeatable,
when in fact it moves through all of us,
like a tide carrying memory from shore to shore.

and of dreams not yet embodied —
a story that began when the idea of “Project Madness” touched me,
seeped through me, and made me write with a rusted voice.

each one recorded upon a mirror framed in rust.

When sound becomes memory, and memory hums back,
play it… and maybe you’ll find yourself,
listening from the other side. 🌒
