This video documents a rare mushroom mutation nicknamed GillBert — a true albino gill-ball phenotype with no stem, no cap, and no spore production.
Because this mutation could not reproduce naturally, cloning was the only way to preserve its genetic expression.
After taking tissue from the original fruit, the culture was allowed time to develop.
Eighty-five days later, the cloned culture fruited — returning the same phenotype.
