Dear aviation friends,

Earlier this week on April 4th, the president of India, Ram Nath Kovind, arrived in Amsterdam for the first Indian presidential trip to the Netherlands after 34 years. His visit assumed significance as India and the Netherlands are celebrating 75 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2022.

Flying President Kovind to Amsterdam was the custom-made Boeing 777-300 VIP aircraft, with callsign Air India One, operated by the Indian Air Force (IAF). The aircraft registered K7066 (ex Air India VT-ALV) was specially outfitted at Boeing's facility in Forth Worth, Texas, with missile defense and countermeasures dispensing systems, including large aircraft infrared countermeasures (LAIRCM) self-protection suites (SPS).

Featured in this video is Air India One's arrival on runway 27 in horrible weather conditions, but the Indian Air Force pilots did a fantastic job by landing the aircraft smoothly in Amsterdam.
