Disaster preparedness is not one-size-fits-all.
Older persons are among the most vulnerable during emergencies—facing higher risks due to limited mobility, chronic conditions, and unequal access to information and services.
Through our interview with UNOCHA, this video highlights the importance of disaster preparedness that is inclusive of older persons and emphasizes the need to protect and fulfill their rights before, during, and after disasters.
Let’s raise awareness, strengthen preparedness, and ensure that no older person is left behind in times of crisis.
